What inspired you to start your career in tech?
"Seems a weird answer but music, I'm music crazy always have been. Was working at HMV, and the job came up around Headphones and Speakers... rest is history."
What have been some of the biggest challenges you have faced in your career and how did you overcome them?
"Biggest challenge is always convincing people. Convincing people 5 years ago that TikTok will be a big thing, convincing people 10 years ago that Instagram might blow up. Convincing people is always the challenge"
Can you share a memorable experience or accomplishment from your career?
"Two things, I once got an 8FT high 4FT wide headphone onto the shop floor at Selfridges. Was a pretty cool execution! I also once got asked to 'look after' Xzibit (of pimp my ride fame) for the day. We just hung out at CES and played FIFA and went for beers, nicest dude, best day ever"
What is your favourite piece of tech and why?
"Boring answer is my iPhone. As tech goes this is everything, I create a bunch of social content and videos etc, I use this for all of that. But outside of that, I have a Tron (the movie) speaker that is discontinued and it has the disk on it, looks epic."
Thoughts on AI?
"We've all been using it for years, everyone assumes this is Skynet. Chat GPT is fun, but it's not perfect. Handy tool for boring tasks for sure"
Can you share any upcoming projects you're working on?
"TikTok, anything and everything TikTok. We're also really trying to build out our creator program, running some 'masterclasses' on key topics trying to help develop their skills"
Do you use or have any retro tech?
"Yes, the Tron one is retro probably now :) Outside of that not really"
You suggested a pair of earphones for me at Xmas...which pair is your go-to for listening and why?
"I use 4 pairs right now, which I get isn't normal. My recommendation is always Jaybird Vista 2, such a good product. I'm also testing a new thing called UE DROPS, which is only out in the US right now. They're custom-made for my ears and true wireless, a really unique product. The other two are always my UE CSX, which are the non-true wireless version of drops (or wired as some may say). And I have some Adidas monster collab over ears I still use every now and again, more as a flex as the colour has never seen the light of day"
Hobbies outside of work?
My hobbies are tech and skateboarding...what's yours?
"Social Media (creating content around it and yes that's a hobby), Gym, Football and family."
What is your dream tech job?
"Head of social media somewhere"
Tea or coffee?
"Am coffee, PM tea"
North or South?
"South, for South Park".
Pineapple on pizza?
"Yes, double it"
Fav music?
"I like hardcore, as in like hardcore metal. Heavy horrible sounding bands"
Fav film?
"All time, Interstellar, or all of the star wars films".
