On Monday, Google announced an AI chatbot to compete with ChatGPT called "Bard."
Yo, what's up, guys? So, Google just announced a new AI chatbot called Bard that they're gonna be competing against ChatGPT with. They're saying it's now available to some "trusted testers", and they're gonna be rolling it out to everyone in the coming weeks. Apparently, ChatGPT got so popular that Google was like "Oh sh*t, we gotta do something about this!" and they hit the code red button.
Bard is gonna be using information from all over the internet, powered by a slimmed-down version of LaMDA. The CEO, Sundar Pichai, says it's gonna be easier to scale up and get feedback from people faster because it uses less computing power. And they're gonna be incorporating feedback from the testers into the internal testing to make sure it's safe and high quality.
And get this, Google's also gonna be adding some AI-powered stuff to their search. They're gonna summarize information on the search page and give you deeper insights into what you're searching for. But, as of now, we don't know much else about Bard and Google's new AI products.
But, they're hosting an event on February 8th, and they're saying it's gonna be a big announcement about search and maps and making it more natural and intuitive to find what you're looking for. Who knows, maybe they'll give us some details about Bard and its AI initiatives. But, one thing's for sure, the competition in the chatbot world is heating up, baby!
